(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating a crash between two vehicles on Marksheffel Road near North Carefree Circle on Sunday, July 21, that left three people injured and one dead.

CSP is investigating the crash and reported that the vehicles collided head-on. Four people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where one was later pronounced dead. The identities of those involved have not been released.

Both lanes of Marksheffel are closed and CSP has no estimate on when the roads will be reopened. Traffic is asked to detour at Cimmaron Hills to the south and Barnes Road to the north, and use Peterson Road to go around the crash scene.
