(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said a two-alarm fire happened in the evening hours of Sunday, July 21 on North Nevada Avenue near Garden of the Gods Road in northern Colorado Springs.
CSFD said on Sunday, at around 9 p.m. fire crews were called to a structure fire at 4660 N Nevada Ave, and Engine 9 reported flames visible from the building on scene. At around 9:30 p.m., CSFD reported that a second alarm had been called due to the size of the building and that the fire was spreading through the attic.
According to CSFD, at around 9:45 the fire was declared under control, with no injuries to any civilians or firefighters. A total of 15 machines were used along with 67 firefighters, and CSFD was on the scene for several hours. While firefighters battled the fire southbound traffic was closed between Eagle Rock Road and Austin Bluffs Parkway was closed.
