(OLD COLORADO CITY) — The Greek restaurant Jake & Telly’s has been a fan favorite restaurant in Old Colorado City for 29 years now.

They are the only restaurant in the Springs area that has authentic Greek Food, and that decision comes from a story that the owner, Jake Topakas, loves to tell.

“We had to go renew our liquor license in front of the liquor board,” says Jake, “So we go and the guy says, we’re not going to renew your liquor license… He’s like, ‘not unless you bring this town some Greek food! We need more Greek in this town.'”

Since the decision to go full Greek, Jake & Telly’s has been serving delicious meals including: Gyros, Greek salad, mousaka, chicken mavrodaphne, and saganaki.
