(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — This Friday, Oct. 31, will see the largest Halloween jackpot in Mega Millions history! In celebration of this macabre moment, Colorado Lottery will hand out free Mega Millions tickets in Fountain.
As of Thursday, the Mega Millions jackpot, set to draw at 11 p.m. Eastern Time on Halloween, was sitting at $754 million ($352.8 million cash). According to Mega Millions, that makes this the biggest Halloween jackpot in the history of the lottery!
There has been a drawing on Halloween six previous times in Mega Millions history, but none of those produced a jackpot win on the ghostly day, but that could all change this year.
In celebration of the spooky occasion, the Colorado Lottery is giving away 150 Mega Millions tickets to Fountain King Soopers shoppers for this week’s drawing. Shoppers can head to the King Soopers at 6255 Sawcut Pt. in Fountain, and the drawing will start at 12:00 noon until supplies last–which Mega Millions said usually only lasts about 10-30 minutes!
According to the Colorado Lottery, the large, national jackpots provide critical funding for Colorado’s parks, trails, recreation, open space, and wildlife. For every dollar spent in Colorado on Mega Millions, $.38 cents goes to Lottery proceeds beneficiaries that support the outdoors and schools in Colorado.
