(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Dalton Bridges, a former El Paso County Deputy Sheriff who was arrested on charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident is set to appear in court on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 16 for a sentencing hearing.
Bridges was arrested in late January 2023 by the Fountain Police Department (FPD) on Sexual Assault and Second Degree Kidnapping charges related to domestic violence. Bridges was booked into the Teller County Jail and posted bail on Jan. 27, 2023.
According to arrest papers, the incident took place on Jan. 3, 2023, and into the morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 4. According to the affidavit, the 26-year-old victim stated, “she had been sexually assaulted by a male deputy Dalton Bridges.”
In Oct. 2024, Bridges pled guilty to felony Second-Degree Kidnapping and a misdemeanor charge of No Consent Sexual Assault.
Previously, EPSO said he had been employed with them since 2019 and was assigned to the Detention Security Division. At that time, he had been placed on administrative leave per policy.
