(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — On Wednesday, April 10, Fort Carson will be holding its annual full-scale exercise to test the post’s emergency response and recovery system and capabilities.
Fort Carson said the exercise will be staged near the South Navajo Housing area, by Gate 5 and in front of Evans Army Community Hospital. The exercise will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to last several hours.
The exercise will include first responder operations of law enforcement, fire, and emergency services along with nearly every U.S. Army Garrison-Fort Carson staff element with some division assets in support of the first responders. The Fountain Fire Department will also be assisting in the exercise.
Service members, families, and civilian employees should expect an increase in traffic and some delays as first responders and garrison staff react to the scenario. Fort Carson said personnel should take additional precautions in the area and allow extra time for travel on post.
