Fountain City invites community to road safety open house

(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The City of Fountain invites the community to an open house on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Fountain City Hall to help shape the future of road safety in the city.

The open house will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., during which leaders will share updated crash information and analysis from 2020 through 2024, and provide locals with the opportunity to offer input on community safety. Feedback during the meeting will be compiled with input received online to prioritize projects and programs for funding and implementation.

The community meeting is part of Fountain’s first Safety Action Plan (SAP), made possible by a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant awarded to the city in 2024, with the intention of improving safety for all modes of travel. The goal of the SAP is to save lives by addressing unsafe locations and implementing projects that will enhance emergency response.

The study for the SAP is expected to be finalized by April of 2026, after which additional grants will be pursued to implement some of the projects identified.
