(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs said on Tuesday, Feb. 25, there will be limited access to Garden of the Gods park for an ongoing waterline project.
On Tuesday, Garden Drive between Juniper Way Loop and Garden Lane will be closed all day. Juniper Way Loop at Gateway Drive will be closed from 5 a.m. to noon. During the closure of Juniper Way Loop, visitors can park in Lot 1 and walk into the park via the Gateway and Bretag trails or drive into the park via Ridge Road. Vehicles will have to exit the park at Gateway Road while Juniper Way Loop is closed.
The Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center will remain open during the closure and popular locations in the park can be accessed via Beckers Lane and Garden Lane.
The City said the project is 75% complete and the closure marks a significant milestone in crossing a major roadway within the park, which will limit future road closures.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the Columbia Road entrance into the park will close until the end of April, impacting the Stausenbach and Scotsman trails.
