(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Garden of the Gods Visitor’s Center celebrated 30 years of community impact this weekend with an anniversary festival, marking a milestone for the beloved Southern Colorado park.
The festival highlighted the park’s role in providing public education and generating revenue, with over $7.5 million contributed back to the park by the Garden of the Gods Foundation.
The celebration featured participation from local and state partners such as Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Butterfly Pavilion, and the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center.
Attendees enjoyed hands-on activity tables, live animals, and more, making it a day to celebrate the park’s achievements and express gratitude to those who have supported its mission.
“Currently, the park sees over 5 million visitors every single year, and that’s a lot of love for the park,” said Christina Haywood, Executive Director of the Garden of the Gods Foundation. “But it’s also loving the park to death. We are able to step in with the funding to help repair and restore trails, protect the park, and make sure that it is fully accessible for all of our visitors.”
The festival not only celebrated past achievements but also reinforced the ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing the Garden of the Gods for future generations.
