Halloween trunk or treat event supports local charities in Colorado Springs

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This weekend, there are lots of Halloween festivities, including a huge Trunk or Treat for a good cause. Justina Baker, the “Queen of Halloween,” along with her son Kannon, joined FOX21 Morning News on Friday, Oct. 24, to talk about what guests can expect on Sunday, Oct. 26, and how the event gives back.

Baker said this is the sixth year for the event, and last year more than 20,000 people attended.

The event is free, but attendees are asked to bring canned goods for Care and Share, and/or new or gently used coats for the Springs Rescue Mission. They are also collecting soda tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. “We need to help each other out,” said Baker. “If everybody just did one little thing, imagine how different our world would be.”

The trunk or treat is taking place at Sky Zone, located at 1750 East Woodmen Road, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
