(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — The Divide Colorado Fire Protection District announced on Saturday, Nov. 2, that the Highland Lake Fire is 100% contained.
According to the fire district, patrols will continue to monitor any hotspots over the coming days. The smoke smell will continue and people living in the area may see small smoke columns coming from the center of the fire for a while.
The fire district extended thanks to all of the organizations who helped respond to the fire, as well as the community for donations of food, water, and other supplies.
