(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Highway 24 is closed in both directions from I-70 to Colorado Springs, due to safety concerns.
CDOT reported that though snow is falling in the area, the bigger concern is the high winds, which are causing hazards and white-out conditions. Ice is also a major concern.
Highway 86 is also closed between Pawnee Avenue and I-70.
Snow plows are out in full force, and CDOT told FOX21 News it is monitoring the situation throughout the day.
