(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Hundreds of Santas descended on Colorado Springs for the annual Chasing Santa 5K and Cycling Santa Race at Pima Medical Institute’s campus on Saturday morning, Dec. 2. FOX21’s Abbie Burke was the EMCEE of the race and toy drive.
Everyone who signed up got a full Santa Suit to wear. Like the real Santa, riders and runners helped provide children with toys this Christmas.
The annual charity run and ride benefited Christmas Unlimited which has been serving the Pikes Peak region for 100 years.
“Our goal this year is to give toys to over 9k children it’ll be the most that we’ve done in the last 25 years,” said Mike Tapia Executive Director of Chirstmas Unlimited.
Christmas Unlimited provides parents with a shopping ticket to pick up toys for their children. If you would like to apply, the application deadline is Dec. 8. You can click on the link above to find out more information on how to sign up, or how to donate.
