(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This week, FOX21 Morning News and the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) are featuring Baxter, a two-year-old Carolina Dog mix that came into HSPPR as a stray.

HSPPR said Baxter can be nervous when meeting new people and will likely need time to adjust to his new home. He has been working with HSPPR’s Behavior team for being a wallflower and has been taking positive steps. Baxter has been uncomfortable while meeting other dogs so he may do best as an only dog or with slow introductions.

Baxter’s adoption fee is $150 which includes a voucher for a veterinarian exam, 30 days of pet health insurance, a microchip, and he will be neutered.

The estimated value of an adoption package at HSPPR is over $400.
