(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) has confirmed that the suspect and victim in a Nov. 24 homicide on the west side of Pueblo were both residents of the Bonaventure of Pueblo senior living community.
Officers originally responded to a report of a deceased man at the retirement community on Bonaventure Court shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. When they arrived, officers interviewed a suspect, who was later confirmed to also be a resident of the independent living section of the community, and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
The Pueblo County Coroner has since identified the victim as 85-year-old Larry Lawton of Pueblo. The coroner said Lawton was killed in an apparent domestic violence incident.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the coroner. FOX21 News reached out to Bonaventure of Pueblo for comment and is waiting to hear back.
