Homicide victim identified, Pueblo PD seeking witnesses

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Coroner has identified a woman killed in a shooting in Pueblo on Monday, June 17, and the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is seeking witnesses in the shooting.

According to the Pueblo County Coroner, 28-year-old Sadie Hlavaty-Pagel was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound in a car in the 500 block of Erie Avenue, on Pueblo’s east side, around 12:30 p.m. on Monday.


ORIGINAL STORY: PPD investigating after woman killed in shooting

Later in the day on Monday, PPD located the suspect in the shooting, 20-year-old Ruben Arturo Velez, driving a stolen car on the city’s south side. Velez led police on a short car chase, followed by a foot chase, before being captured, PPD said.

PPD is now asking for help identifying witnesses who may have seen something that could help their investigation. The two cars shown below were seen on surveillance footage around the time of the homicide, and PPD would like help identifying and contacting them.
