(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A motorcycle crashed on I-25 south of Fountain on Sunday night, April 20, causing temporary lane closures and one injured person taken to the hospital by helicopter, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
CSP stated that a motorcycle was involved in a one-vehicle crash around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, causing the lone motorcycle rider to be injured.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) reported that I-25 had closed between Exit 116, County Line Road, and Exit 122, Pikes Peak International Raceway, around 8:45 p.m.
According to CSP, crews closed the lanes to allow a helicopter to land and pick up the injured person for transport to the hospital. The extent of the person’s injuries are unknown at this time.
As of 9:45 p.m., CDOT reported that northbound and southbound I-25 had reopened to traffic.
