Ivywild Garden Art Toure reveals fanciful gardens and art

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The third annual Ivywild Garden Art Toure took place on Saturday, July 20, giving locals a chance to visit several whimsical gardens around the Ivywild neighborhood.

Visitors started at the Millibo Art Theatre and followed a map provided by the event for a self-guided tour. Featured gardens included urban farm-style plots with vegetable beds, fruit trees, and beehives, as well as traditional English-style gardens with a rainbow of flowers arranged in lush displays. Interspersed in each garden were hidden gems of artwork and handicrafts.

The tour took visitors to the historic home of Spencer Penrose’s stable manager, where a mini art festival allowed artists to show their work around a children’s vegetable garden and another garden hid a jewelry workshop. Plein air artists were available to chat with visitors while they created new works throughout the gardens, and El Paso County Master Gardeners and members of the Horticultural Art Society answered questions for all gardening needs.
