Jury convicts Colorado Springs man on multiple drug and weapon charges

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A jury found Nathan James Meek guilty of several drug and weapon-related charges on Friday, July 18, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. Meek had been arrested on January 19 after large quantities of narcotics had been found inside his home in Colorado Springs.


CSPD: Wanted felon arrested, illegal narcotics, guns recovered

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, trial evidence showed that Meek sold large quantities of narcotics in the Colorado Springs area, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana. When he was arrested, investigators recovered a cellphone, a firearm, 10 fentanyl pills, 6.2 grams of methamphetamine, and over $3,000 in cash.

Trial evidence also showed that the search warrant of his home led to officers recovering 2,202 grams of methamphetamine, 131 grams of fentanyl, 80 grams of cocaine, 698 grams of marijuana, and three firearms. Meek’s cell phone had records of drug-related communications dating from January 2024 through the time of arrest.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). The prosecution was handled by the Violent Crimes and Immigration Section at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Meek was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
