(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — Starting Tuesday, August 1, Fort Carson gates will go through a few new changes due to staffing and resourcing reductions.

Gates 5, 6, and 19 will experience new hours and closures starting in August. Gate 5 will be open seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Gate 6 will operate Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gate 19 will be closed until further notice starting Aug. 1.

“We understand this change may cause inconvenience throughout the installation,” said Col. Erik Oksenvaag, Fort Carson garrison commander. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we manage all available resources.”

During closure times, community members are encouraged to use Gate 1, 3, 4, and 20 as alternate access points.
