(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) recently shared the stories of three kittens who were rescued from various circumstances thanks to concerned neighbors.
According to HSPPR, on Monday, Aug. 26, Animal Law Enforcement Officer Sardello had a busy night. Officer Sardello rescued two kittens after good Samaritans called about kittens in trouble.
The first call was a good Samaritan who heard a kitten’s loud cries. The kitten’s head was stuck in a fence, and Officer Sardello was able to free them just in time.
The second call was moments later when a Siamese kitten needed help getting out of a storm drain.
The third kitten rescued was at a different time when a good Samaritan saw a kitten being thrown out of a car window on a highway in front of their home. The good Samaritan came to the kitten named Sarsaparilla’s rescue and cared for her overnight till they could bring them to HSPPR.
All three kittens were taken to HSPPR for care. HSPPR said the two kittens that were rescued on Monday had some sickness, but HSPPR hopes the kittens will be available for adoption in a few weeks.
Sarsaparilla had an open-mouth wound and some dried blood around the lip and eye but HSPPR said those were the extent of her injuries. After a month in HSPPR’s care, Sarsaprilla was fully healed and adopted into a new home.
