Last Chance: Splash pads to shut down on Labor Day

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — As back-to-school season kicks in and hot, warm weather turns into a light cold breeze in the mornings, it is a clear sign for those who enjoy splash pads: closing day is coming soon.

Generally, spray grounds and fountains are available in the summer months. When outside temperatures are not expected to reach above 65 degrees, some sites may close for the day until hot temperatures return.

With closing day nearing, here are the sites you can visit until September to enjoy some water fun:

Uncle Wilbur Fountain at Acacia Park, located in Acacia Park, from noon to 6 p.m.

Julie Penrose Fountain at America the Beautiful Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Deerfield Hills Spray Ground at Deerfield Hills Community Center, times vary.

The Water Hole at Venezia Park at John Venezia Community Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Splash Pad at Panorama Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The last day to enjoy these spray grounds and fountains is Labor Day, which lands on Monday, Sept. 1 this year.
