DENVER (KDVR) — The Quarry Fire continued to burn southwest of Ken Caryl in Jefferson County on Saturday.
A deputy discovered the fire around 9 p.m. Tuesday along Deer Creek Canyon Road, west of Grizzly Drive.
As of Friday night, the fire had burned more than 480 acres with 10% containment. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said this is an arson investigation and the fire is believed to be “human-caused in some manner.”
Quarry Fire evacuees must get a resident pass for re-entry as officials plan to allow people home when it’s safe.
How to get a resident re-entry pass:
Location: Evacuation site at Dakota Ridge High School, 13399 W. Coal Mine Avenue
Date: Saturday, Aug. 3, or Sunday, Aug. 4
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Requirements: Proof of residency
