Man arrested in Cañon City after allegedly pushing car in river

(CAÑON CITY, Colo.) — A man has been arrested after a disturbance at the Cañon City train depot in which a man allegedly pushed his car into the Arkansas River and struggled with responding officers.

According to the Cañon City Police Department (CCPD), 39-year-old Tye Dudley of Cañon City was arrested on Monday, March 24, after officers responded to a report of a car in the Arkansas River near the train depot parking lot around 10 a.m.

Shortly after the initial report of the car in the river, a second call was received reporting a disturbance at the train depot. Once officers arrived, they determined both calls were related.

According to CCPD, the investigation revealed that Dudley allegedly pushed his car into the river before being involved in a disturbance.

Dudley was arrested on charges of assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct in connection to the incident at the depot.

Additional charges in connection to the car being pushed in the river are likely to be added, CCPD said. Dudley is being held in lieu of bond at the Fremont County Jail.
