Man dies after crash on C-470 in Douglas County

DENVER (KDVR) — A 64-year-old man died after a single-vehicle crash on C-470 Tuesday afternoon.

The Colorado State Patrol said it received a report at about 3:04 p.m. about a crash involving a Ford F-150 on westbound C-470 near Santa Fe Drive in Douglas County.

Following an initial investigation, CSP said the F-150 was driving westbound on C-470 when the driver reportedly struck a road barrier on the left side of the road. CSP said the truck began to rotate and rolled, blocking the middle and right lanes.

CSP said the driver was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries. On Wednesday, the patrol said the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim was identified as a 64-year-old man from Calhan.

The identity of the man will be released by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office

C-470 was closed for an investigation and vehicle recovery, but has since been reopened.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by CSP. Anyone who may have witnessed the scene is asked to contact CSP dispatch at 303-239-4501.
