(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Second Annual Manitou 5K Run & Walk is happening Saturday, Oct. 11, at Fields Park in Manitou Springs. Proceeds from the event benefit Manitou Springs schools, and Anna Conrad, the Principal of Manitou Springs High School, joined FOX21 Morning News on Tuesday, Oct. 7, to talk about why this race means so much.
“All of the proceeds go to the school district; it rotates from school to school throughout the years,” said Conrad. “This year, it’s going to the high school and specifically going to sponsor experiential learning,” Conrad said. This will include field trips, conferences, guest speakers, and more.
The 5K Run & Walk is open to everyone. Entry fees are $25 for those 18 years old and younger and $40 for those 19 and above. A race t-shirt designed by a Manitou Springs alumnus is included.
