Middle Creek Canyon under mandatory evacuation

UPDATE: MONDAY 6/24/24 2:52 p.m.

(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — Middle Creek Canyon is now under a mandatory evacuation order due to the Oak Ridge Fire, according to the Beulah Fire Protection and Ambulance District.

Residents under mandatory evacuation orders should leave immediately. Beulah Fire said Cascade Avenue, Pine Avenue, and Beulah Highlands are under a pre-evacuation notice.

An evacuation shelter has been set up at the Pueblo County Parks and Recreation building, located at 1525 Cooper Place.

The Oak Ridge Fire is burning in Pueblo County, about three miles northwest of Beulah. It was first reported on Saturday, June 22 at 9 a.m.

The United States Forest Service (USFS) has issued a pre-evacuation notice for the community of Middle Creek Canyon.

As of Monday, June 24 at 2 p.m., the Oak Ridge Fire had grown to 30 acres, and the USFS has requested additional air resources.
