(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash south of Downtown Colorado Springs on Friday, March 29.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a motorcyclist was heading southbound on South Nevada Avenue near Las Animas Street around 4:20 p.m. Friday when a truck heading eastbound on Las Animas collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injures, and the driver of the truck remained on scene. CSPD said no impairment is suspected.

The driver of the truck was cited for Careless Driving Causing Serious Bodily Injury. CSPD said roads in the area were closed for over an hour.
