Neighbors react to Cybertruck explosion suspect

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Neighbors in the Stetson Hills neighborhood are reacting to the news of the suspect in the Las Vegas Cybertruck explosion, identified as a U.S. Army soldier from Colorado.

Matthew Alan Livelsberger, the suspect, lived in the 5400 block of Carvel Grove off Stetson Hills Boulevard. Neighbors describe Livelsberger and his wife as just a normal family, and said Livelsberger was quiet but he was nice in the few interactions they had.

“Just seemed like a normal guy. I don’t know what else to say…I’ve been here for two years now, so. But, yeah, they just seem like normal people. And like I said, his wife, my heart goes out to her, and she’s such a sweet, sweet lady,” said Cindy Helwig, a neighbor.

Neighbors were surprised to see police vehicles in the neighborhood and told reporters they were shocked to see them.

“But then we came out at one point and we saw the cops at each exit and then everything was blocked off, and we were at that point, we’re like, ‘this is weird’ because we’ve never really had anything like that in our neighborhood,” said neighbor Kenny Mack. “But when we found out that it was what it was, potentially, we were literally like, mouths to the floor, shocked and just like, what do we do… We’re just like walking around the house, looking outside and not sure what to do.”
