New drive-thru DMV opens in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — A new option is available to people in Pueblo seeking Clerk and Recorder services, and they can now visit the drive thru instead of waiting at a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office.

According to the Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, a new Motor Vehicle Express Drive Thru is offering a number of services to the community in a convenient drive-thru setting at 1228 Routt Avenue, which the Clerk and Recorder said is the first of its kind in the State of Colorado.

The Drive Thru offers the following services at this location:

License Plate Renewals

Tab Replacements

Temporary Permits

Persons with Disabilities (Handicap) Placard Renewals

Process New Persons with Disabilities (Handicap) Applications

The location was purchased by the Board of County Commissioners for use by the Clerk and Recorder in February of 2021, at a cost of $170,000.

The drive-thru currently has three drive up lanes open to the public, with the potential to open up to nine lanes as demand increases.
