New wellness center opens in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Tuesday, Nov. 19 marked the grand opening of the Charles and Helen Solano Wellness Center in the Bessemer neighborhood of Pueblo, which will offer programs and partner with nonprofits to serve the homeless community.

The center will also have a demo kitchen where people can learn how to cook, a rooftop garden to learn how to grow the food they cook, and an area with computers where people can apply for jobs or take online classes.

The center is named after the co-founder and CEO Jude Solano’s parents, Charles and Helen, and will also feature a small grocery store and a healthcare wing.

“This was a labor of love, and so near to my heart. Two years in the making,” said Jude Solano, Co-Founder and CEO of the Wellness Center. “I’m a Pueblo native, born and bred, from elementary school to high school, and my roots are very deep. This community… has touched so many lives.”

The center held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday and invited the community to visit and have a look at the new facility.
