(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — Monarch Mountain announced its opening day will be Friday, Nov. 22 as the ski resort kicks off its 85th season in Chaffee County.
“Each year, our goal is to start the lifts as early as possible, and thanks to Mother Nature and the relentless efforts of our incredible mountain operations team, a November opening is happening!” said Christopher Haggerty, General Manager at Monarch Mountain.

According to the ski area, staff will be monitoring conditions and will release a grooming report at 6 a.m. on Friday. Four lifts will be open to skiers and snowboarders and include the Pioneer, Garfield, Tumbelina, and Caterpillar lifts.
According to Monarch Mountain and new this season, it “has expanded its ski patrol clinic to enhance on-mountain safety, increased its grooming and maintenance capacity and improved several internal venues in anticipation of the future No Name development.”
A planned opening date for the No Name development is expected during the 25/26 ski season, according to the ski resort.
On Friday, Monarch Mountain will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with several options available to guests including; the Rental Shop, Sidewinder Saloon, Java Stop, Ski and Ride School, and Elation Sports. Kaleidoscope Tubing Park will remain closed for opening day.
