(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One person is dead after they lost control of their car and sideswiped another car before hitting a tree in the center median on the northeast side of Colorado Springs.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday to a report of a crash on Dublin Boulevard near Cloud Dancer Drive, west of Powers Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they determined that a car had lost control and sideswiped another car before driving off the road and hitting a tree in the center median. CSPD said the driver was declared dead on scene.

The other driver who was sideswiped was uninjured, CSPD said.

Dublin was shut down for several hours for the crash investigation and reopened shortly before 1 a.m.
