Overnight crash in Colorado Springs claims driver’s life

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the driver of a vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle crash in the overnight hours of Friday, Feb. 23.

According to CSPD, on Friday at around 12:15 a.m., officers were called to a single-vehicle crash in the 2500 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue west of South Circle Drive. When officers arrived they learned a vehicle was traveling west, left the roadway, and hit a retaining wall.

Medical on the scene tried life-saving measures but the driver was dead. Police are investigating the crash and the cause is under investigation.
