(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The Fountain Police Department (FPD) said a man allegedly fired a gun in the area of John Lindamood Park in the evening hours of Wednesday, June 12. Officers notified those living in the area of the search out of fear the suspect could enter a home due to open doors and windows.
FPD said on Wednesday before 11 p.m. officers were called to the area of John Lindamood Park, located at 502 Royalty Place about a man firing a handgun. Officers were in the area within three minutes and got a description of the suspect as a white or Hispanic man in his teens wearing a white shirt and grey shorts. The suspect was last seen running from the area on foot.
While officers were searching the area, they noticed many doors and windows to homes were open due to the high temperatures that day. A decision was made to notify those in the area in fear the suspect could enter into a home to hide.
After about two hours of searching police were not able to find the suspect. A spent shell casing was found in the park where the suspect was seen. FPD is still investigating but does not believe the suspect was firing at anyone specific or at a home.
