(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) has confirmed that an armed suspect died in an officer-involved shooting on Tuesday, July 8, after officers responded to a domestic disturbance.
According to PPD, around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived at the scene on Glen Royal Drive, near Pueblo Boulevard and West Northern Avenue, in response to a call reporting that a man was threatening his family members with a gun. Officers saw a man with a gun at the scene and ordered him to drop the weapon.
PPD reported that the suspect failed to comply with the orders and raised the gun toward the officers, at which time an officer fired a shot and hit the suspect. The suspect was declared dead at the scene.
