(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department arrested a 20-year-old man after a custody dispute led to shots being fired.
On Tuesday, May 20, Pueblo Police officers responded to the 600 block of Alpine Avenue, near Thatcher Avenue, and determined that the suspect, 20-year-old Brandon Duenez-Vallejo, and a woman had come to the home to exchange custody of a child.
A dispute ensued, and the suspect ran inside the home, retrieved a rifle, and discharged a round towards the car that was occupied by the victim and a child.
Duenez-Vallejo was arrested on multiple charges, including First Degree Attempted Murder, Third Degree Assault, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm.
