Pueblo Fire responding to downed power lines

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Fire Department (PFD) said it is responding to multiple downed power lines due to wet, heavy snow.

PFD posted on social media on Friday, Nov. 8, and said crews had responded to multiple downed utility lines across the city. PFD said it was working with utility companies to safely mitigate the issues.

“This is a very wet heavy snow and it is causing tree limbs to break and lean on power lines,” PFD said. “We are systematically moving from call to call as resources become available and ask you to avoid the areas of fallen power lines and trees so that responders can have safe access.”

PFD reminds members of the community to treat any downed power line as active and never go near them. If you see one, call 911 or report it to Black Hills Energy at 800-890-5554.
