(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Starting Monday, March 31, the Pueblo Police Department will change the way it does traffic accident reports.
PPD said reports of accidents will no longer be taken in person, but starting Monday can now be submitted online through the State of Colorado crash reporting website. Individuals can scroll down to the “If Police was not on the scene” section and click “file a crash report online.”
Any crashes that are reported on the website will not be investigated by the Pueblo Police Department and no citations will be issued.
Accidents that meet the criteria should be reported via the website above:
Minor crash with no injuries
All vehicles can be removed from the scene
Driver exchange information on scene (name, phone number, and insurance information)
Private property accidents
Accidents involving wildlife
Crashes or accidents that don’t meet the criteria can be reported by calling the non-emergency line at (719)-553-2502 or 911 if it is an emergency. Reports of hit and runs will be accepted at the Pueblo Police Department lobby counter during normal business hours. Crashes incolcing commercial cars can also be reported at the department and will require the assistance of an officer.
