(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The City of Pueblo is hosting a semi-annual “Team Up to Clean Up” event on Saturday, May 31, for citizens at no cost.

The event will take place at two main locations in Pueblo, one at Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) at 2001 Rawlings Boulevard and the other at Colorado State Fairgrounds at 1001 Beulah Avenue.

“We are looking forward to hosting another successful clean-up event for our City residents, absolutely free of charge,” said Mayor of Pueblo Heather Graham. “Last fall, we successfully added a third drop-off location for green waste and yard debris at Pueblo RecycleWorks to help with the long lines.”

Individuals are encouraged to enter the CSU Pueblo location using Troy Avenue and Rawlings Boulevard, near the ThunderBowl parking lot. Entry to the Colorado State Fairgrounds will take place through Gate 3 on Mesa Avenue and Gate 9 on Beulah Avenue. Traffic will be routed through the Fairgrounds to the drop-off location and exit through Gate 5 on Prairie Avenue. 

During the event, individuals will be able to dispose of large household items and yard debris between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Cars with building materials, including concrete, soil, or rocks or industrial or commercial waste will be turned away. Hazardous materials, appliances, TVs and other electronics may not be disposed during the event.

“We encourage our residents to take advantage of this free opportunity to get rid of household trash and large items like mattresses or furniture,” said Director of Public Works, Andrew Hayes. “Although the City of Pueblo sells large-item vouchers year-round, this is a convenient way and free way to get rid of your excess items from your home or backyard.”

A green waste drop-off site will also be located at 1595 Stockyard Road, at the Pueblo RecycleWorks location. This separate site can only be used for tree limbs, leaves, and other yard debris.
