Rampart Range Road rollover fatality identified

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is sharing the identity of a person killed in a crash on Rampart Range Road as 32-year-old Samuel Marsh.

According to CSPD, on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at around 12:30 a.m., officers got a call about a traffic crash near mile marker four along Rampart Range Road. Along with the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), CSPD responded to the area and began searching for the crash.

The police’s initial information was that the vehicle had left the roadway and rolled multiple times. A passenger of the car had managed to walk away from the crash and get help from a passing motorist.

Police and CSFD were able to locate the vehicle and found Marsh dead inside. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy and identified Marsh as the victim.

CSPD said this was the 40th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025; at this time in 2024, there were 37 traffic fatalities.
