(PUEBLO, Colo.) — In July, a free community festival, the Steel City Arkansas River Festival (SCARF), will take place. Currently, registrations are open for various events happening during the festival.
SCARF will take place on Saturday, July 26, and will feature several events, including:
Build your own boat race
Vendor village
Freestyle river surf competition
Paddle and bike parade
Trailgate
Rubber duck race
Registration for the Build Your Own Boat race is $100 per team plus a $50 refundable deposit. The race features divisions of two-person, three-person, and four-person teams. Five teams will race per heat, and there will be two heats per division. A full list of rules and parameters for boat construction is on Pueblo’s website.
The surf competition has a $35 registration fee per participant and splits divisions among gender and age groups. Details on judging and rules can be found at Pueblo’s website.
