DENVER (KDVR) — It’s been seven years since Terri Ackerman was last seen alive, and on Wednesday, officials reported that her remains had been found in Lochbuie.
Ackerman, 56, of Lochbuie, was reported missing by her husband on Aug. 24, 2018. He said his wife had been sleeping in her bed at 5 a.m. before he left for the day. Personal items, including her cellphone, wallet, cigarettes and car, were found at her home at 130 Poplar Street.
The Weld County Coroner’s Office said it responded to an address in the 100 block of Poplar Street on Sept. 10 this year regarding the discovery of human remains. The agency said Ackerman’s cause and manner of death await the completion of an autopsy report.
Police previously reported that Ackerman’s husband said his wife had been upset the night before she went missing and had concerns about babysitting her grandchildren. The Lochbuie Police Department said Ackerman had mental health issues for which she was prescribed medication.
Police searched the area extensively at the time of her disappearance, assisted by drones and RAMPART Search and Rescue.
The case is still under investigation by the Lochbuie Police Department.
