Repeat theft offender suspect arrested by detectives

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a suspect wanted by detectives was arrested in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, Aug. 27 after running from police.

According to CSPD, on Tuesday, at around 4:15 p.m., local retailers in the 5600 block of East Woodmen Road near North Powers Boulevard called CSPD about a repeat offender who was currently in their store. The alleged repeat offender identified as Jason Miller was wanted by detectives who responded quickly to the parking lot of the store.

CSPD alleges Miller left the store with stolen merchandise concealed under his clothing. When detectives contacted Miller he ran from officers and was soon apprehended. CSPD said Miller is a suspect in 20 incidents of theft at local stores totaling over $8500.

Miller was arrested on three outstanding felony warrants along with several misdemeanor warrants. Police said Miller is facing additional charges of Resisting Arrest, Theft, and other charges.
