(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) announced with heavy hearts that retired K9 Hulk passed away on Friday, Feb. 21.

Hulk, a 9-year-old Dutch Shephard, was a dual-purpose working dog, certified in both apprehension and narcotics detection. He worked with his handler, Officer Weise, from Jan. 2020 to Jan. 2023. CSPD said he “served honorably and with great dedication to the safety of the citizens of Colorado Springs.”

According to CSPD, Hulk passed away peacefully after a brief illness with his handler at his side.
