(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Barnes Road will close for about three months between Antelope Ridge Drive and Marksheffel Road for major road work, starting on Monday, July 8, according to the City of Colorado Springs.

As part of the Marksheffel Rd improvements, crews will lower and widen the Barnes Rd intersection to improve safety and mobility.

Travelers should plan to take alternate routes or face delays. The detour signs will direct travelers to Peterson Road and either Stetson Hills Boulevard or North Carefree Circle to avoid the closed work area. Businesses on Barnes west of Marksheffel will be accessible from Antelope Ridge Dr.
