Save the Date: Skating event benefits families of fallen military and first responders

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Coming up in September, you can lace up your skates, hop on your skateboard, or even unicycle at Chick-fil-A’s Skate for Chicken event, benefitting families of fallen military service members and fallen first responders.

The event, which benefits Angels of America’s Fallen, will be held at the Chick-fil-A located on Garden of the Gods Road on Friday, Sept. 20. Attendees can skate from 10 p.m.-midnight for a good cause, and for the chance to win Chick-fil-A for a year!

There will be skating, prizes, and a costume contest, and FOX21’s own Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister will emcee the event.

The event typically has only 200 spots available for participants. Registration is not currently open, but you can stay up to date by visiting the event page.

Angels of America’s Fallen is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “encourage and fund healthy positive activities for the children of fallen firefighters, military, and law enforcement. Between grief counseling and scholarships others provide, Angels stand beside the children all years, every year until adulthood.”
