(SOUTHERN COLORADO) – As we get set to change the calendar to September you may want to make some plans to get outside.
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center recently released their 30 day outlook for September and expect Colorado to be warmer and drier than average. While that may not be the best news for wildfire risk and the potential for drought conditions to develop, it’s great news if you want to be outdoors.
METEOROLOGICAL FALL
September begins meteorological fall – including shorter days and falling temperatures, daylight saving time ends, our first strong cold front arrives and we get our first snow at some point. Good news is on the front end of this the leaves changing in the back half of the month over the high country usually happen under some great weather.
