(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) issued a shelter-in-place order for the area near North Nevada Avenue and I-25 while officers worked to place into custody a man who earlier allegedly had threatened someone with a rifle.
According to CSPD, on Tuesday, June 11 at around 11:45 a.m. officers were called to the 5400 block of North Nevada Avenue about a man who allegedly threatened someone with a rifle in an apartment complex in the area.
Police were able to find the man identified as 30-year-old Emmanuel Alfaro and tried to contact him. When initial contact was unsuccessful, officers set up containment and called for tactical resources. Those living in the area were asked to shelter in place while officers negotiated with Alfaro to surrender.
CSPD said Alfaro surrendered without incident and was taken into custody for Felony Menacing.
