Shots fired in domestic incident on S. Union

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Shots were fired during a domestic disturbance on Friday morning, April 5, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD). At 7:41 a.m. CSPD responded to reports of shots fired near South Union Boulevard and Whitman Road.

According to CSPD, the incident involved a boyfriend and girlfriend. The woman got into her car, along with two family members. The man fired shots at the woman as she drove away, then police said ran and continued firing. Police took him into custody without incident near the intersection of Fountain Boulevard and Doniphan Drive.

One family member sustained minor injuries from broken glass and was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but no one involved was seriously injured. CSPD is currently collecting evidence in the neighborhood.
